Losing people
Losing people (aka employee attrition) is unequal between small and big companies.
Big companies don’t care about losing people, while they probably should.
For 1, it’s easier for them to hire thanks to the brand name and compensation (For most people, who don’t want to work for Google?). For 2, there are more people to split and take over the task of the person who left.
Small companies (including startups) cannot afford to lose good people because they lose time. Hiring takes longer, and there are not enough people to onboard and train the new hires. The know-how is lost. In many cases, they go backward and restart.
Try harder to keep the people that you value.
